In a milestone moment for cancer research funding, Pedal the Cause announced today a landmark expansion of its presenting sponsorship with the addition of the St. Louis Area Hyundai Dealers and Hyundai Hope On Wheels, who join longtime Presenting Sponsor Edward Jones.
The sponsorship unites three powerful supporters of the fight against cancer: Edward Jones, the St. Louis Area Hyundai Dealers, and Hyundai Hope On Wheels — one of the largest nonprofit funders of pediatric cancer research in the United States. These organizations are joining forces with Pedal the Cause to accelerate discoveries for both adult and pediatric cancers, strengthening St. Louis’ position as a leader in cancer research and innovation.
The partnership marks the first time in Pedal the Cause’s 16-year history that a new organization has joined Edward Jones at the presenting sponsor level.
The announcement comes as Pedal the Cause surpasses $56 million invested in breakthrough cancer research, funding 274 innovative adult and pediatric research projects since 2010 and helping researchers leverage more than half a billion dollars in additional funding.
“Since our inception, Edward Jones has been an extraordinary champion of our mission, helping establish Pedal the Cause as one of the nation’s leading cancer fundraising events,” said David Drier, Executive Director of Pedal the Cause. “We are incredibly grateful for their continued leadership and thrilled to welcome the St. Louis Area Hyundai Dealers and Hyundai Hope On Wheels as Co-Presenting Sponsors. Their commitment to advancing cancer research aligns perfectly with our vision of creating a world without cancer. Together, these organizations will help us accelerate discoveries that improve and save lives both here in St. Louis and around the world.”
The partnership signals growing national recognition of the impact generated by Pedal the Cause, whose unique model directs 100% of participant-raised donations to cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
“Cancer remains the leading disease-related cause of death for children in the United States, which is why Hyundai Hope On Wheels has spent nearly 30 years investing in pediatric cancer research,” said Jamie Auffenberg, President of Auffenberg Dealer Group of Illinois and Chairman of the Hyundai Hope On Wheels Board of Directors. “We are proud to partner with Pedal the Cause in support of a shared mission to accelerate breakthroughs for those facing cancer, and to join Edward Jones as Co-Presenting Sponsors. Pedal’s unique model of funding early-stage research and rallying an entire community around the fight against cancer makes this relationship a natural fit, and we are excited to expand our impact.”
This year, Pedal the Cause will return to the Family Arena in St. Charles on September 19–20, 2026, bringing together thousands of riders, volunteers, fundraisers, researchers, survivors, and supporters united by one goal: funding the research that will create world without cancer.
Registration is now open at pedalthecause.org.
