No, you do not need login information to make a donation. Simply click on the “Donate” button on our website, and select “Donate to a Fundraiser” or “Donate to a Team.” You will then be taken to a page to search for the rider you would like to support. Once you have found their profile, click “Donate” and follow the instructions. All donations made online are 100% secure, and 100% of your gift will fund cancer research. We do not store credit card info in our database from donors.
Please make the check payable to Pedal the Cause, put the fundraiser/ team fundraisers name in the memo line, and mail the check to: CIBC c/o Pedal the Cause 8410 Solutions Center, Chicago, IL 60677-8004.
Please note, our sponsor, CIBC, has their processing center in Chicago, therefore checks go through Chicago to credit to Pedal the Cause. All donations stay here in St. Louis and 100% of participant-raised funds directly support cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Credit card and check donations are always best for tax acknowledgement purposes.
If you are a donor, you must bring the cash donation to the Pedal the Cause office if you wish to receive a tax acknowledgement receipt. Pedal the Cause cannot issue a tax acknowledgement for cash donation submitted by anyone other than the actual donor. If you are a rider who has received a cash donation, either from an individual or from an event, please do not bring the cash to the office. Instead, please keep the cash and make an online donation to yourself for that amount. Please note that Pedal the Cause cannot issue tax acknowledgements for cash donations that are not brought directly to the Pedal the Cause office by the actual donor. Please do not send cash through the mail.
If you would like to change the recognition name that appears on the fundraisers public profile page, please send an email to info@pedalthecause.org and include the following information: rider name, donor name, date of the donation, and desired recognition name.
Matching Gifts
The matching gift submission, verification and disbursement process can take an extended period of time and varies by company. Some companies will approve and pay out a matching gift request quickly after the submission date, and others may take up to a year.
It is important for you to find out your company’s matching gift policy and procedures so that you understand when PTC is likely to receive the funds, as this can affect the fundraising commitment of the participant you are supporting.
We encourage you to apply for your matching gift as soon as possible to ensure your funds have the best chance of arriving before the October 31, 2024 fundraising deadline. To see if your company has a matching gift program, click HERE.
NOTE: If your company does not match gifts until after the October 31, 2024 fundraising deadline, notify us at info@pedalthecause.org. It’s possible that these funds will not be received prior to the distribution of PTC dollars to Siteman Cancer Center and therefore will be credited towards the following year’s fundraising commitment.

Inspired
Teams
We all have a reason to fight for a world without cancer! Many times, fundraisers come together as a team to ride and raise critical research dollars in honor or in memory of someone or perhaps to bring colleagues together for camaraderie, wellness and support of a mission. Teams can be made up of family members, friends and/or colleagues and can include riders, spinners, volunteers, virtual Inspired fundraisers and Kids Challengers.
There are three types of teams, Corporate Challenge, Friends/Family and Hospital Affiliate. Fundraisers can choose to join the team as a rider, spinner, Inspired (virtual), Kids Challenger or volunteer. In addition to the individual rider profile pages, a separate team fundraising profile page allows your team to highlight your motivation for riding. Learn about all the ways fundraisers can participate HERE.
If you have questions about starting a team, contact our Community Engagement Manager, Mollie Zolkind at mollie@pedalthecause.org.
